Our iron furniture is bench made one-at-a-time, by dedicated American artisans on an old world production scale in the hills of Arkansas.  Skilled blacksmiths, sometimes second or third generation ironworkers, make every item from start to finish using age old iron forging methods.  Every hand tool and essential piece of equipment used by the village blacksmith in the 1800’s is still integral to the way these pieces are made today; no two pieces that are identical.

The iron used in the production of this furniture line is low carbon.  It starts as either a sheet, bar stock, pipe or plate and is then heated and pounded into shape by hand using traditional blacksmith tools and techniques.  The surface is naturally scaled by the heat and textured by the hammer, adding character, warmth, beauty and authenticity to every piece.  Sharp edges are softened and then finished with a multi step process to seal and protect the iron, while enhancing the textures and design features of the product.

The standard finish is Black but there are many other finish options, as well.  We recommend you clean and buff the iron with a lint free cloth to remove dust.  Occasional polishing with a quality furniture wax will also preserve the finish for a very long time.
